2025 Fall Collegiate Scholarship Essay

The Coach Sarna League is excited to announce the upcoming Coach Sarna League Collegiate Scholarship Award, an empowering opportunity for aspiring student-athletes in our community. This scholarship aims to support students from Napa, Vallejo, Benicia, and Fairfield-Suisun Unified School Districts.

Eligibility and Submission Guidelines:

Contestants must be currently enrolled in 5th to 8th grade.
Essays must be double-spaced, between 3 to 5 pages, using Times New Roman font, size 12.
The topic for the essay is: "Describe the impact of adding Men's and Women's Flag Football to the 2028 World Olympics."
All essays must be submitted through our Scholarship Essay link located on our website: Thecoachsarnaleague.org

Important Dates:

Scholarship entries are due by Sunday, September 7th at 11:00 PM PST.
Winners will be announced on Monday, October 6th via social media and email (winners will also be contacted directly by phone).

Awards and Celebration:

Four deserving winners will be selected and awarded a $500 scholarship check, with one representative from each district:

Napa Unified School District
Vallejo Unified School District
Benicia Unified School District
Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District

Winners will be celebrated and presented with their scholarship during our 49ers Flag Football Championship Weekend:

Fairfield-Suisun winner on Saturday, November 22nd at Solano College in Fairfield
Napa winner on Sunday, November 23rd at Phillips Elementary School in Napa
Vallejo and Benicia winners on Sunday, November 23rd at St. Patrick's High School in Vallejo
